Interesting reboot of the series. More of a comedy side of it vs the seriousness of the originals

This movie was awesome, it's nice to see the crazy creatures that are in resident evil. The mutation gets so crazy sometimes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new take on the series, an emotionally immature man who is working late medical deliveries takes one last job for the night and it’s a journey into surreal winter wonderland. Cozy watching if you find “The Thing” cozy, also the characters stand out in the dark whiteness of snow at night leaving nowhere to hide and claustrophobic moments in a vast landscape. It avoids the zombie plague for more imagination for a relentless hybrid collecting components on the way, leading to the occasional mix of different creatures, but relies on the chase and the interlinking of scenes to carry us on the journey of his sudden growth into emotional maturity through adversity. It has a nod towards the gamers and fans of the game by him being unused to real weapons and accidentally finding his survival genes hidden in the soft persona. It’s not full of military or swag types or the usual raccoon city police etc, which I found gives it a sense of the real world and easier to connect with as he’s just a Joe trying to earn his way and finds that life is quickly surreal and steps into an alternate reality. As a former firefighter this is almost a good way to suggest the difference in perceptions we have between emergency services and the public, we see the alternate reality of body horror and adversity every day in the urban and countryside setting while the public only see it if they happen to be in visual range or part of it, it’s just one step from everyday into total chaos and horror.
